Child’s First Dental Visit
Our office, as well as The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a "Dental Home" for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.

On the day of your child's appointment, tell them they are going to visit a tooth doctor who will count their teeth and teach them how to take care of their teeth. Emphasize the adventure of visiting a new place and meeting new friends. Please do not tell them “it won’t hurt” or “don’t be scared.” It does not hurt and is not scary but if you mention those phrases, they will think that it might hurt or it could be scary. We look forward to their first visit with us!
